My daughter often is an in patient on Paeds. She is disabled with learning difficutlies and mental health issue. The nursing staff and ward Drs/Consultants are superb and always strive to ensure best practice at all times. I cant fault the staff and they always listen and assure me that I know my daughter best .
I transferred care to the maternity unit late in pregnancy and self-referred as an NHS doctor myself. My desire to deliver at Kingston, where I had previously had an excellent student experience 12 years previously, was supported throughout. I had excellent care from all the members of staff I came across, and would be happy to choose this unit again for myself in the future, as well as recommend it to friends.
Always had good experience at Kingston hospital - from maternity ward to children's ward.
Kingston Hospital has a strong culture of dedication, care and respect which permeates through all members of the team. I feel that not everything runs as smoothly as it might due to constant changes and support systems that do not always seem fully joined up.
Professional and friendly staff and felt reassured in their care.
We've just had our first baby, and the entire pregnancy and birth was dealt with at Kingston Hospital. The care up to the point of the birth was excellent, we felt the midwives were very switched on and answered any questions we had.
The birth itself was a perfect experience in terms of all the people that we dealt with, from start to finish.
We had 2 midwives (Susan and Sheena), both of whom were exceptionally good, keeping us informed of what was happening and providing us with the options open to us. It wasn't an easy birth, with us needing an epidural and ultimately an emergency c-section - but every member of staff was incredibly supportive and gave us information to make the right choices.
When our baby was born he didn't breathe for about a minute, so as you can imagine we are eternally grateful to the staff who resuscitated him in the theatre.
The after care was also absolutely brilliant. Our baby had to spend almost a week in the Neo Natal ward, but the staff there were top notch and looked after him (and helped us to look after him) perfectly. Again, we were always well informed and felt 100% comfortable with the care he was receiving.
Everybody, from the midwives to the support staff, pediatricians and nurses were absolutely fantastic and made us feel at ease at what would otherwise been a fairly traumatic time. I can't recommend them enough!
4 bed ward. Clean. Regularly checked following surgery for blood pressure etc. Staff available although didn't seem to be that many of them and I wasn't sure if the person who mainly attended me was a qualified nurse or an auxiliary.
The waiting room was dreary and whilst I was waiting for a bed to be ready no one came to see me to say what was happening. After an hour I went out and asked.
I have had really good experiences at Kingston hospital and would highly recommend it.
Kingston hospital provides excellent service. I have had three operations at the hospital and each time they amaze me- with their care, professionalism and humanity and respect. - you dont see that alot nowadays!
Fantastic hospital, amazing staff.
The queue at reception was rather long to check in for my appointment. The waiting room was very hot and crowded. Apart from this I had a great experience. The staff were all very friendly and caring, even a cleaner held open a door for my pram.
